I did a thing – I made my own website. This is something that’s been on my to-do list forever, so I’m very proud that I finally did it. I’m equally aware that it will not be quite right yet, so bear with me while I make changes as I learn more about it.
What’s this website about?
This website is a place where I will share my research on decision-making in extreme environments. I explore how people and teams (usually in organisations) make decisions under stress and identify common pitfalls. I also offer practical solutions to promote action. Here you’ll find my published papers, media pieces, training details, and more.
I’m keen to flex my writing skills by publishing blog posts on decision-making and teamwork topics. I’ve had experience doing this through outlets like The Conversation, where I’ve applied research to the latest news topics (e.g., Boris Johnson’s indecision and Brexit indecision). So, I’m keen to do more. Like most academics, I enjoy academic writing, but it’ll make a nice change to write like a human here!
Who is this website for?
This website is for professionals, researchers, students, and anyone who is interested in learning more about decision-making and teamwork under pressure. As an organizational psychologist, my research tends to focus on workplace settings, but it is easily transferable to any high-stakes choices.
So, what’s next?
I’m writing this with confidence, knowing that no one knows about this website just yet… 😉 But soon, I will be posting about it on my professional social media accounts (in fact… if you are reading this, then it has already happened).
If you already know me, then you’ll know that I am friendly and always happy to chat. So please comment below or reach out directly if there are any topics you’d like to read about on my website. I hope that this will be a useful resource for others, and either way, I’m excited to have a central space to organize my research!
Thanks for reading!
